Inferno – This fine art seascape photograph was captured at Ben Buckler, the northern headland of Bondi Beach, Sydney. A wild winter storm had rolled across the city, with heavy rain and dark clouds.
Just before sunset, I noticed a small gap opening on the horizon – a hint of light breaking through the gloom – so I made my way to the beach.
By the time I arrived, the sun had pierced through the thick cloud cover, setting the sky ablaze in shades of crimson and fire. The ocean was wild, waves crashing over the rocks with force, and in that light, the entire scene transformed into something almost unreal – as if an inferno was raging above the sea.
