Raging Ember – Captured at Bronte Beach, Sydney, Australia, on a stormy winter afternoon in July 2024. Walking along the cliffs, I noticed a narrow opening on the horizon where a soft golden light began breaking through the dark clouds. The empty beach, clean four to five-foot waves, and rapidly changing sky hinted that something extraordinary was about to unfold, so I ran back to my car, grabbed my camera, and swam out to capture the scene from the water.
Being in the ocean during sunrise or sunset is one of the experiences I value most. In those quiet moments, surrounded only by the sound of the waves and the changing light, I feel a deep sense of peace and connection with nature. Raging Ember is my attempt to preserve that feeling and share the calm, wonder, and raw beauty of the ocean with others.
Awards:
– Australian Photography, The Landscape Awards 2026 – Seascape Category – Runner-Up
– Capture Magazine, Australasia’s Top Emerging Photographers 2026 – Landscape Category – “Dancing with Water” Series – Top 20
