Eruption – This fine art seascape photograph was taken on a misty summer evening at the Kalapana lava flow, on the Big Island of Hawaii. For years, lava from the Kilauea Volcano poured into the ocean, reshaping the land and creating one of nature’s most powerful spectacles.
Standing on the vast, hardened lava field, I watched as molten rock met the sea in a fiery clash. Steam rose into the sky, and a haze of smoke drifted toward the horizon, blurring the boundary between earth and sky. Hearing the roar of the battle between fire and sea was an incredible feeling – a surreal, humbling experience. I felt as though I were standing in the presence of something ancient and powerful, a relentless force that was working tirelessly beneath my feet.
