As a lover of the ocean, I spend a great amount of time wandering around the coast and exploring new locations. A few years ago, I discovered this stunning rock pool at North Bondi. Although, I tried to shoot there several times before, but I was never able to capture good enough images with a single shot. The pool is positioned too close to a large rock which makes it impossible to set up my tripod far enough from it so I could get the best angle. Also, the pool is located on a rock platform which is only visible during low tide and even then, a large wave could wash over the rocks which makes it quite challenging to capture a tranquil image like this.
I found myself again at the pool on a beautiful afternoon when I realised that all the elements were finally in my favour.
I’d had this image in my mind for a long time so in order to succeed this time, I set up my tripod as far as I could from the pool, and I started capturing small pieces of this mental image. I ended up with more than a dozen of shots and later on, I stitched these puzzle pieces together during the editing process which finally enabled me to present the Hidden Treasure of this majestic pool.
